They say shoot for the moon and you’ll at least end up among the stars. We say, shoot for whichever makes you happiest and don’t settle for anything less. Here at Saj Akbar we very rarely place a candidate and never hear from them again. It may be years later when they’re ready for the next step of their career but time after time our clients come back, their sights set on the next goal. That’s because we help them set that long term goal.
Some recruiters ask “Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?” We say, “What does retirement look like to you?” and work a path back with key stepping stones to start hitting now. Don’t ever be afraid to say your dream is on a private yacht, or in a beach-side penthouse or in a country cottage surrounded by cats. If that’s your dream, go for it. Most people fail on the long term goal because they don’t set the pathways to make it happen but that’s where we come in.

This can be a tricky one for some people because sometimes there are things we don’t want to hear but ultimately if you’re not getting those jobs because you’re 15 years out of date in your IT skills or because your CV reads like everyone else’s or because you have spinach in your teeth, wouldn’t you rather know so you can fix it? At Saj Akbar we don’t sugar coat the truth but neither do we judge; we identify a weak point and give you the tools to strengthen up those weak spots.
BELIEF
We don’t take everyone into our fold. If we don’t think we’re a good fit for each other or that we simply can’t help you, we’ll tell you and help you find someone who can. However, if we do see that spark in you we will go to bat for you every time.
