As a key appointment for the business, the primary objective of the role is to profile and drive forward the commercial operations in line with strategic business. With the support of 4 direct reports, you will operate at a strategic level to drive profitability across the organisation.

Principle objectives:

  • Developing and implementing an agreed commercial strategy.
  • Leading, managing and supporting the commercial team to ensure excellent service to all internal and external customers.
  • Arranging and managing commercial operations to ensure timely delivery of all services.
  • Providing commercial and contractual analysis to support improved profitability.


  • Strong background in commercial management/development at senior/strategic level.
  • Strong leadership experience managing a team; hands-on management & coaching
  • Highly numerate and detail orientated.
  • Capable of providing insightful and balanced views on business risks and issues.
  • Ability to understand the market, business needs and, design and develop innovative solutions where necessary.
  • Experienced at reviewing commercial contracts and terms.
  • Proven ability to add value via analysis and reporting.
  • Proven ability to increase profitability and drive commercial thinking/processes in a growing business.
  • A strong strategic and tactical thinker, with the ability to balance the short and long term strategic goals.
